Tickets for the 73rd annual Miss Golden Tornado Pageant are now on sale in room B135 or see Mrs. Szafran. Tickets are $8.00. The pageant will take place at 7:00 pm, Saturday, the 29th of April. All tickets are sold in advance!! No tickets will be sold at the door.

Tickets for the 2017 Junior Prom entitled “Enchanted Garden” will go on sale Today. The cost of tickets will be $25.00 a couple and $15.00 single. You may purchase your tickets before school in Mrs. Szafran’s room or during all three lunches in the cafeteria. If you plan to bring a date outside of KHS, you must complete a form and return it to Mrs. Szafran. If the form is not received by the date of prom, your guest will not be attending.

Any students desiring to become inducted into the National Honor Society please sign up in Miss Teets room E210. Students must have taken 4 science classes with at least one being an AP class. Students must have an overall 3.0 GPA and a science GPA of 3.5.

On Friday, April 28th Josten’s will be here during all three lunches to distribute Announcements and Cap and Gowns for Seniors.

The Mineral County Art Show will be here Monday & Tuesday next week 6-8pm. We hope to see everyone there to see artwork from students K-12 across Mineral County.

The 2017 After Prom Party will be held on Saturday, May 13th from 11:30pm -5:30am at Keyser Middle School. Tickets are on sale during all three lunch shifts. The cost is $5.00 and each ticket includes a t-shirt and a refillable Kona Ice souvenir cup. T-shirts will only be available to those who buy tickets in advance. There will be many activities throughout the evening including bounce houses, basketball and volleyball tournaments, Game on the Move truck, bingo, games and free food from Fox’s. Duckies, Livvy’s and many other local restaurants. There will also be drawings for hundreds of dollars in cash, laptops and flat screen TVs. All KHS Juniors and seniors are invited to attend even if they do not attend the Prom. Freshman and sophomores may attend if they were a guest at the Prom.

The Mineral County Technical Centers Green House is now open on Monday-Friday 12-5. They will be open until everything is completely sold out. They have a huge variety of flowers and several different vegetables to choose from and their prices are very reasonable. The students in the Horticulture class at the Vo-Tech worked very hard getting everything pulled together and they would love to see you there to support them and their hard work.

The Keyser High School Football banquet will be held on Sunday, May 7, 2017 at 2 pm. All football players who played this past fall are encouraged to attend. If you are unable to, please let Coach Biser or Coach Staggers know as soon as possible. All senior players, if you haven’t done so already, need to talk to Coach Biser about attendance and pictures for the program. Thank you.

Cinderella’s Closet Giveaway is open each Wednesday, 6-7:30 or by appointment. 304-788-2091. Next to Keyser Post Office at First United Methodist Church – 32 N. Davis Street.

Teachers: A Reminder that members of the Jazz Band and Broadway Vocal Ensemble are to be excused without announcement at 10:30. They will be performing for a child advocacy benefit at the courthouse. They will return between 1:30 and 2:00 today.

Students during advisory today you will receive a lunch card that you will be required to have if you eat breakfast or lunch during the remained of the year. Beginning on Monday, you will be required to pay for each meal in advance. Payments will be accepted in the hallway outside of the main office each morning. Payments will not be accepted any other time during the day. If your advisor teacher does not have your meal card today please see Mrs. Halbritter first thing on Monday morning. If you don’t not have a meal card you will not be served when going through the lunch line.
