JOB DESCRIPTION

 

 

POSITION:                                 TECHNOLOGY CHAIRPERSON

 

IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR(S): Principal

 

EMPLOYMENT TERM:              School year

 

SALARY:                                    $400

 

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:

Provides leadership and support in coordinating the technology education program at the school level.

  • Communications are maintained between principal, school staff and county staff concerning technology implementation;
  • Meetings are called as needed with a minimum of one formal meeting per month with previously announced date; writes minutes and submits them immediately following meetings to the department/team members, principal, and the appropriate director;
  • The goal-setting process is implemented for the school for technology education;
  • Responsibilities as school staff development coordinator for technology education are fulfilled;
  • The evaluation of technology equipment (in cooperation with county staff), selection of technology instructional materials and supplies is coordinated; spending of computer classroom allocations is monitored; and
  • Other assigned duties in the area of technology are performed as assigned by the principal.

Provides leadership and support in county curriculum and instruction activities.

  • County technology curriculum meetings are attended; to assure representation of school at each meeting in the event of illness, etc., a substitute will be sent; and
  • The maintenance and operation of technological equipment are coordinated.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Possession of leadership skills with ability to relate well to other staff members and school and county administrators;
  • Knowledge of technology education and research trends and issues in the integration of technology in the classroom; and
  • Minimum of five years of experience in Mineral County

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to stoop, reach, stand, walk, lift, pull, push, grasp, talk, hear, see, climb, use technology such as computers and multi-media equipment, and use repetitive motions.

 

While performing the duties of this job the employee may frequently lift and or move up to 50 pounds of materials, etc. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision such as to read handwritten or typed material and the ability to adjust focus. The position requires the individual to meet multiple demands from several people and interact with the public and other staff.

 

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. The work environment may be indoors in a gymnasium or outdoors with temperatures ranging from 20 degrees to in excess of 90 degrees F. The noise level in the work environment is moderate to loud (60 -90 dB).
