Free and Appropriate Education
The Mineral County Board of Education is committed to providing a free appropriate public education to children with exceptionalities identified in accordance with applicable State and Federal laws, rules, and regulations. Exceptional students are those children and young adults between the ages of three and twenty-one whose exceptionality meets the criteria established by West Virginia Board of Education Policy 2419.
Categories of exceptionalities include: autism, blindness and low vision, deafblindness, deafness, developmental delay, emotional/behavioral disorder, gifted, hard of hearing, intellectual disability, orthopedic impairment, other health impairment, specific learning disability, speech/language impairment, traumatic brain injury.
