Mrs. Sheila Powell and Mrs. Kelly Stanislawczyk are proud of their Business Computer Applications I students! Fifty-six students received their Microsoft Office Specialist certifications with 139 certifications earned during the Fall of 2024. Nineteen students accomplished three certifications or more, which gave them an additional certificate, the Microsoft Office Specialist – Associate. Twenty students became classroom champions in one or more areas. Four students placed in the top ten in the state of West Virginia.

PowerPoint 365 Classroom Champions

2nd Place: Paisley Hanlin, Michael Mongold, Jayden Reynolds, Uriah Swick and Rylee Welch

3rd Place: Emileigh Bolyard, William Evan Key, Nolan Mellott and Arielle Spencer

Word 365 Classroom Champions

1st Place: Khloe Hamilton, Joshua Hays, Lillian Pancake Jayden Reynolds, Uriah Swick and Emily Woolman

2nd Place: Conleigh Burton, River Cameron, Elizabeth Del Signore and Alanda Puffinburger

3rd Place: Olivia Kithcart, Michael Mongold, Kloe Roderick, Eliza Rutter and Rylee Welch

Excel 365 Classroom Champions

Alanda Puffinburger: 8th Place State Champion in PowerPoint 365

Uriah Swick: 6th Place State Champion in Word 365

These certifications allow students to learn valuable skills for future careers as well as skills needed for personal daily life activities. Certifications are an asset to the students’ career portfolios as well. The exams require continuous study and practice of skills. Exams are timed, so it adds an extra challenge for students. There efforts definitely paid off. An awards ceremony was held to celebrate the students’ successes.
